The Honor System

Recently, I bought a little ceramic vase from this stand — it was honor system and pay what you want. I was surprised seeing this in Brooklyn — as I am more accustomed to coming across this in rural or beach communities — but I love the good faith mentality. The idea that someone puts something out there, usually a labor of love, with the hope of making a little money, and trusting that people will do right.
