Throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks

I am not in a dissimilar situation, and I decided to ignore any nagging urge to talk myself out of taking risks and just try out a bunch of things — reach out to both my network of friends and those I don’t know well, take a continuing ed class in something I am interested in. Hopefully it all leads to something.
